XXL Big Wave Winner

Brazilian beauty, Maya Gabeira, won the Billabong XXL Big Wave title for the second year in a row. Maya was awarded the Women's Best Performance (the only award for female big wave surfers) on Friday, April 14, 2008. According to Billabong's official Web site, "The bomb she was towed into at Teahuppoo, Tahiti gave her the shot that got her nominated this year. This single ride claimed the attention of media across the globe recognizing Maya as the world's premiere female big wave surfer."
