Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

Backyard Bruises

NoBruise!® works great for me. Twice now I've had a chance to use it. Once I banged my shin really hard on the metal arm of an outdoor chair in my back yard. It hurt enough that I knew it would bruise pretty badly tomorrow (you can usually tell).

Then I remembered the box of NoBruise!® I had in the medicine cabinet. I tore open one packet and rubbed it all over the spot. Amazingly, the next day, there was no bruise to be seen! It was still a little tender, but not as much as it should have been. Three days later, still no bruise, and the tenderness was nearly gone.

I've used NoBruise!® on other occasions to prevent a bruise, and it seems to work every time - miraculously. Thanks for creating this amazing product. Knowing it has all-natural ingredients makes it even more desirable to my family and I.

Mosquito Bites | Natural Remedies

Mosquito image

Most of us treat mosquito bites with commercial mosquito sprays, (cough! cough!) which do more to drive me into the house then prevent mosquito bites. I’ve tried herbal-based bug spray to little effect. (Although I do like the fragrance.)

There are two ways to look at mosquito bites: prevention and treatment.

Prevent Mosquito Bites – According to the Mayo Clinic, there are a few factors that place you at greater risk. Mosquitoes are more likely to bite

  • Men
  • Those with Type O blood
  • Overweight individuals

Does that mean if you’re a fat guy you’re outta luck?! Not quite. Read on.

In my experience, I rarely remember to slather myself with mosquito repellent before the fact. I don’t think I’m alone on that score. So let’s move on to “treatments for mosquito bites.”

Treat Mosquito Bites – One way to treat mosquito bites is to avoid mosquitoes altogether. You can do this by eliminating sitting water anywhere in your yard, from old tires or wheelbarrows to standing water in plant containers or filling in low lying areas where water can pool.

Most of us are looking for itching relief, however. A customer wrote us recently to explain how she stopped the itching and swelling from mosquito bites:

“Having been born and brought up in a country that has no mosquitoes, I haven't much natural resistance to them. When I get "bitten" by them it itches like crazy for a number of days and often forms large white welts. I have tried many natural mosquito remedies before without much success.

"Last night my husband and I were sitting outside, and I didn't notice until it was too late that I had a cloud of mosquitoes around my feet and ankles. The itching began right away and I was going crazy trying not to scratch the bumps that had formed.

"My husband suggested that I try the NoBruise!®, which I did. As soon as I rubbed it on, the itching stopped right away and never came back. In fact I completely forgot about the bites until later in the evening when I was amazed to see that there were no white welts anywhere.

"Today there is no evidence of the bites at all. Love this stuff!"

Using NoBruise!® as a mosquito bite remedy never occurred to me, but it makes perfect sense that it would be a natural remedy for mosquito bites. I also like its distinctive, homeopathic fragrance.

Bruised Thumb Treatment | Bruised Thumb Relief

A cordless drill with clutchImage via Wikipedia

Now most people when wielding a power tool, bruise their thumb. I don't know why. Maybe it's because it's the largest digit on the hand. Maybe because it extends perpendicular to the hand which makes for an easy target.

Whatever the reason, the first instinct for relieving the pain of a bruised thumb is to stick it under cold, running water.

When we received the following testimonial, it didn't quite address the propensity for handymen everywhere to bruise the thumb.

But in the spirit of equality, we are giving the index finger the same attention and concern as we would a thumb. Our product works as a bruised thumb treatment as well as relieving the pain of any bruised finger. At NoBruise!®, we don't discriminate.

From Monique in Flagstaff, AZ:

"My husband was attaching an industrial-type electrical outlet box with a power drill. His index finger was behind the box. He made an unintentional move and the box slammed his finger. Finger gets smashed. He applies the NoBruise!® towelette to his finger.

A day later there is no evidence that his finger got smashed. There were no swollen bruises. It looked and felt normal!"

This is just one of the many experiences I have had with NoBruise!®

If you apply the towelette right away, it works like magic. Keep them close by! There are not many products around that work so rewardingly and shockingly evident. And what great gifts they make for anyone who can get bruises:  all your friends, family, kids, neighbors, doctors, masseuses, delivery persons, business relations... everyone!"

Moms & Marketers Unite | Mom 2.0 Summit

BruiseImage via Wikipedia

Under the better late than never categoary and a shameless plug for NoBruise! (which was included in the gift bag handed to attendees, here is my belated post.

The Mom 2.0 Summit was held in Houston, February 19-21, 2009. Our product, NoBruise!, was given to mom bloggers, mom marketers, mom publicists of all kinds. Here was our pitch:

Futuresavy Enterprises developed and designed an all natural, bruise preventive, called No Bruise! Originally marketed to extreme sports enthusiasts, the uses for this product are universal. When I learned of the Mom 2.0 Summit, I knew it was a perfect fit. Every kid suffers from bumps and bruises. Up until now, marketing to moms was cost prohibitive. There are just too many!

We have a simple one-page Web site www.stopbruises.com and a companion blog, www.bruise-control.com.

The boxed product contains six towelettes and is about the size of a pack of cigarettes cards. Certainly small enough to fit into a swag bag.

Our appeal was welcomed along with a gift certificate presented to one lucky mom for a massage at the Four Seasons spa, where the event was held.

It may be too early to tell if our promotion was a success, but summer's just around the corner. So mom bloggers unite! Start blogging about NoBruise! and tell us how those bumps and bruises just disappeared.
